Best Hip Hop Jeweler in India: How Custom Pieces Are Made & Why Jewelzit

by Official JEWELZIT Sep 25, 2026

If you've ever ordered a "custom" name chain online and got something that looked nothing like the photo, you're not alone. Most hip hop jewelry sold in India is made in bulk from the same few templates, plated thin, and set with stones that start falling out in a month.

I've been making jewelry for more than twelve years, first at the bench in Jaipur and then as a CAD designer for brands in the US, Canada, the UK and Europe. This post is my honest take on what separates a real hip hop jeweler from a reseller, how a custom piece actually gets made, and why we started Jewelzit.

Who is the best hip hop jeweler in India?

The best hip hop jeweler in India is one who designs your piece from scratch, shows you a 3D render before making it, tells you exactly what metal and stones you're paying for, and hand-sets every stone. Jewelzit, based in Jaipur, works this way on every custom order, from name pendants to fully iced Cuban links.

I'd say that even if we didn't exist. Use those four points to judge anyone you're thinking of buying from.

What is hip hop jewelry?

Hip hop jewelry is bold, oversized jewelry that grew out of rap culture: thick Cuban link chains, tennis chains, iced-out pendants, name and logo pieces, big rings and grillz. It's meant to be seen from across the room. Weight, shine and personality matter more than subtlety.

In India, it's moved well beyond artists. I get messages from college students, gym owners, small clothing labels and grooms who want something different for their wedding.

How is a custom hip hop piece made?

A custom piece goes through six steps: your idea, 3D CAD design, 3D printing, casting in metal, hand stone setting, and polishing. Here's what happens at each stage when you order from us.

1. We start with your idea

You send whatever you have. A pencil sketch, a logo file, a screenshot from Instagram, or just "I want my name in Old English letters, fully iced, not too heavy." We ask about budget early, because it decides the metal and the stones, and it's better to be upfront.

2. I design it in 3D

This is the part I care about most. I model every piece in Rhino and MatrixGold, and use ZBrush for anything sculpted, like faces or animals. Every letter, every stone seat and every bail is placed on screen before anything gets made.

You get a render to look at. If a letter looks too thin or the pendant feels too small next to the chain, we fix it now, when a change costs nothing. The CAD file also gives us an accurate metal weight, so the price you're quoted is the price you pay.

3. It gets 3D printed and cast

Once you approve the render, the design is printed in high-resolution resin and cast in your metal: 925 sterling silver, or 10K, 14K, 18K or 22K gold. Gold-plated silver is an option if you want the gold look at a lower price.

4. Stones are set by hand

A good setter makes or breaks an iced piece. Our setters in Jaipur place each stone one at a time. You can choose:

  • Lab-grown diamonds. Real diamonds, grown in a lab, at a fraction of the price of mined ones.
  • Natural diamonds. For a piece you plan to keep for life.
  • Moissanite. Very hard, very bright, and a favourite for fully iced pendants.
  • Cubic zirconia. Fine for fashion pieces when budget comes first.

5. Polishing and finishing

The piece is polished, then plated if needed. This is also where we add black rhodium, enamel colour or engraving on the back.

6. Checking before it ships

Before anything leaves, we check every stone for movement, test the clasp, and weigh the piece against the CAD estimate. Then it's packed and sent to you.

How do I know if hip hop jewelry is good quality?

Ask the seller these questions. A real jeweler will answer all of them without hesitation.

  1. What metal is it, and what purity? For gold in India, ask about BIS hallmarking.
  2. What are the stones? Diamond, lab-grown, moissanite and CZ are very different in price. Anyone vague about this is hiding something.
  3. Is it solid or hollow? Hollow chains look big but dent easily.
  4. What clasp does it use? A heavy Cuban needs a box clasp with a safety lock.
  5. Can I see the design first? For custom work, you should always see a render before paying in full.

How much does custom hip hop jewelry cost in India?

It depends on three things: the metal, the metal weight, and the stones. A sterling silver name pendant with moissanite costs a small fraction of the same design in 14K gold with lab-grown diamonds. That's why we quote after seeing your design, not from a fixed price list. Message us your idea and budget and we'll tell you what's possible.

What can Jewelzit make?

  • Custom name and initial pendants
  • Logo pendants for artists, labels and businesses
  • Portrait and photo pendants
  • Cuban link chains and bracelets, plain or iced
  • Tennis chains and bracelets
  • Signet rings, name rings and statement rings
  • Matching chain, bracelet and ring sets

If you have something else in mind, ask. Most of the best pieces start as "is this even possible?"

Why choose Jewelzit?

Because the person designing your piece has spent over a decade doing exactly this, for jewelers abroad who hold very high standards. We bring that same level of work to customers in India, made in Jaipur, without the import markup.

You see your design before it's made. You know what's in it. And you can message us directly instead of waiting on a ticket system.

How do I order a custom piece?

  1. Send your idea and budget on WhatsApp at +91-90799-18890 or DM @jewelzitindia on Instagram.
  2. We reply with options and a quote.
  3. You approve the 3D design, with changes if needed.
  4. We make it by hand in Jaipur.
  5. It ships to your door.

How do I take care of hip hop jewelry?

Take it off before you shower, swim or work out. Keep perfume and lotion away from stones and plating. Store pieces separately so chains don't tangle or scratch each other. Clean with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, and check your stone settings every few months if you wear it daily.

Frequently asked questions

Is Jewelzit a real jeweler or a reseller?

Jewelzit is a jeweler. Every custom piece is designed in-house in 3D and handcrafted in Jaipur.

Can I get real gold hip hop jewelry in India?

Yes. We make custom pieces in 10K, 14K, 18K and 22K gold, as well as 925 sterling silver.

Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. They have the same chemical and physical makeup as mined diamonds. The only difference is where they were formed, and the price.

Is moissanite better than CZ?

For pieces you'll wear often, yes. Moissanite is much harder and keeps its sparkle for years, while CZ can scratch and turn cloudy over time.

Will I see my design before it's made?

Yes. Every custom order includes a 3D render for your approval.

How long does a custom piece take?

It depends on the design and materials. We'll give you a clear timeline before you confirm.

Do you deliver across India?

Yes. WhatsApp us for delivery details to your city.
